Taking a bus ride in Malta on a sunny day with little to no traffic can be quite a fun time. But add a random saxophone player to the ride and you’ve got yourself quite the memorable experience. 

That’s what one bus-full of people heading towards Sliema got today after  a curly-haired man casually got on the bus, pulled out his saxophone, and got to work.

“I had just gotten on the bus as normal. It was nothing different from the usual ride when out of nowhere this guy just breaks out the sax and starts performing,” says Ian Hinksman from Underground Sounds who filmed the performer.

The player starts off with some staccato notes, before warming himself up with some nice little fills. He then heads into a saxophone medley that would not be out of place in the streets of New Orleans.

And it seems the rest of the crowd on the bus were pleased with his impromptu session, with a few people even applauding when he finishes.

With this video proving the soothing effects of the sweet saxophone, maybe sax solos can become a regular feature on the Maltese public transport system?
