Tennis sensation Francesca Curmi took centre stage in this week’s episode of “Malta Takes Over the World,” showcasing her remarkable journey and recent triumphs.

In early December, Francesca competed in the WTA 125 tournament in Angers, France, where she secured a significant victory.

Francesca shared what a typical match day routine includes which began with an early wake-up call, followed by practice sessions, leading up to her impressive first-ever main draw win at a WTA match.

In a gripping encounter, Curmi faced Patricia Maria Tig, a formidable opponent with a career-high ranking of 56th. 

After an intense two and a half hours of play, Francesca emerged victorious with a score of 5-7, 6-0, and 2-3, as Tig retired from the match.

This remarkable win propelled Francesca into the Final Round of 16, marking a significant milestone in her career.

At just 21 years old, Francesca’s trajectory in the tennis world is soaring, as she continues to reach new heights and celebrate major victories.
