WATCH: The Trailer For Malta’s New Period Drama Set In A Circus Is Finally Here And It Looks Awesome
Period drama lovers, the wait for a new Maltese show to dominate the airwaves is almost over.
With only three months to go till the launch of L-G?arusa, a show that will follow the lives of several dynamic characters from the 1930s, the production team has finally released a full-length trailer.
With strong ties to circus life, the show revolves around the murder of a young woman and of course, a steamy love triangle.
She is a Maltese Jennifer Lawrence and you can’t tell me otherwise.
Similar to Strada Stretta, each episode will have scenes set in today’s Malta, while the rest will flash back to the dirty 30s and all the hottest scandals.
The actual story begins with a modern day collector buying an antique wedding dress to add to a museum collection; but the dress comes with a dark history.
Filmed and produced by Sharpshoot Media (the same team who created Strada Stretta), written by Audrey Brincat Dalli and directed by Justin Farrugia and Steven Dalli L-G?arusa will air 26 episodes in the first year alone. Filming for the show starts next month as over five unique sets designed to replicate Maltese life in the 1930s have already been constructed.
