There have been some, as judge Howard Kieth himself would say, incredible performances so far, with contestants showcasing their powerful vocals and compelling backstories, as well as the confidence to bring it all together – and it seems the international crowd have taken note.

Here are X Factor Global’s top five Maltese performances.

1. Gail Attard

Her performance of You’ve Got The Love captured the hearts of Maltese viewers, and her inclusion in the list shows the appreciation her strong vocals are garnering from X Factor viewers worldwide.

2. Michela Galea

The 21-year-old teacher’s take on Joss Stone’s version of Son of a Preacher Man proved her soul credentials, and her sass and vintage look have already pivoted her to global acclaim.

3. Miguel Bonello

Miguel’s energetic cover of Michael Bublé’s Feeling Good left its mark on Maltese audiences for all the right reasons, and now X Factor’s international audience have perked up their ears to the Maltese youth as well.

4. Michela Pace

Her powerhouse vocals were first showcased in her original audition, where she covered the power ballad Total Eclipse of the Heart and left a great impression, even being the first X Factor Malta contestant to go viral internationally.

However, it was her emotional cover of Ke$ha’s Praying that continued to capture the attention of the global crowd.

5. Petra

The Maltese singer – who previously opened up about her abusive past – was able to get all four judges and the entire crowd to ecstatically cheer and clap. Her performance of INXS’s ‘Never Tear Us Apart’ showcased just how powerful her vocals are – and just how much emotion she has to back them up.
