World-Touring, One-Woman Powerhouse Tash Sultana To Play At Rock’n Malta

Tash Sultana made a name for herself busking on the streets of Melbourne and having homemade videos go viral with millions of views online. She’s a one-woman-band with a sold-out world tour and dozens of high-profile festival gigs booked, including Laneway 2017.

And soon she’ll be playing in Malta.

Sultana will be performing as part of a new initiative launched by the Arts Council Malta this week. Rock’n Malta – under the artistic direction of Lou Bondi – will be a series of rock concerts held over a number of months including international and local acts.

The songstress joins a bunch of international acts as part of the rock series. So far three have been confirmed – Krokus will be playing on the 20th May (think Born to Be Wild, Easy rocker); The Wailers are performing on the 25th August (Jammin’, No Woman No Cry); and Procul Harum are up on the 5th October (stuff like Whiter Shade of Pale, Conquistador). With another two bands still to be confirmed.

Sultana will also be in good company with a solid line-up of Maltese artists –No Snow/No Alps, Fire, 12th Ode, The Riffs, Red Electrick and Different Light. A-grade stuff, and we bet that her unique sound is going to be a awesome treat for local rock fans.

In an interview last year, Sultana was asked about her background, and how she feels about her connection to Malta.

“I frequently go to Malta, to see my family. It’s nice to see how Maltese you actually are.”
