Yes, Maltese Pro Wrestling Is A Thing And It Looks Absolutely Insane
Many Maltese people have over the years been massive fans of WWE superstars like The Undertaker, Hulk Hogan and The Rock, but they’ve now got some local wrestlers to look up to instead.
Yep, say hello to Pro Wrestling Malta
With all the flair of international wrestling but an awesome injection of Maltese traditions thrown in the mix (think eight pointed crosses and wrestling names like Gianni Valletta), we’re finding it pretty difficult to find something that looks as awesome as this.
Other colourful characters include La Famiglia‘s The Don, who comes with his own suited, sunglass-wearing crew.
Pro Wrestling Malta is approaching its second major event of the year its summer, and it’s going down on the 17th of June. As if that wasn’t enough, the night is actually called Summertime Madness, which is one of the best puns we’ve heard in a while.
The night, along with appearances by PWM Champion himself Gianni Valletta and the whole crew of La Famiglia, promises performances by UK professional wrestlers Mark Haskins, TJ Sky and Travis Banks, along with the duo Arrows of Hungary, Dover & Icarus (yes, those are their names, and we wouldn’t make fun of them if we were you).
Oh and yeah, don’t forget Glamorous Roddy.
PWM is heavily pushing to take Maltese pro wrestling to the international stage, and its regular confirming of athletes who compete in WWE events abroad is definitely helping.
Just last year, for example, Pete ‘The Bruiserweight’ Dunne was wrestling in Malta in a PWM ring. Last week, he was crowned WWE UK Champion.
