10 people in Paceville were detained last weekend for not holding the proper licenses to work as bouncers or work at all in Malta.

The police were inspecting the entertainment hub to ensure that establishments were being run legitimately with regard to licenses, bouncer licenses, and workers.

24 establishments were inspected and it was found that 10 individuals were working as bouncers without holding the necessary license to operate in an entertainment venue or without permission to work in Malta.

Five detainees were from Serbia, three from North Macedonia, one from Bulgaria, and another from Bangladesh.

During these inspections, officials from the Detention Services, as well as JobsPlus, assisted the police.

The work was part of regular inspections being conducted across several localities on the island which are expected to be intensified within the coming weeks.

Just last month, Lovin Malta revealed a harrowing incident that involved a beating by five bouncers on one Paceville goer. At least one of these bouncers was unlicensed.

What do you make of these detentions?
