Two days of discussions, networking, and delving into the future of Europe kicked off for 10,000 young people yesterday in Strasbourg’s European Parliament Hemicycle at the European Youth Event.

“The future is Europe and that future is yours” said EP President Roberta Metsola in a post to social media.

EYE 2023 is the fifth edition of the event – bringing together 10,000 European citizens, students and young people – who are there to “share and shape their ideas on Europe’s future”.

This event is an opportunity unlike any other, allowing 16 to 30-year-olds to interact and  inspire each in the heart of European democracy – with the EP President and other political giants in close proximity.

The programme is focused around the role of democracy and youth engagement, which will allow European level lawmakers in attendance to understand what the priorities, and biggest sticking points, the younger generation have when they thing about an embattled future.

Although it is too late to join the thousands in Strasbourg, anybody interested in participating from afar can still do so, as the EYE allows you to join online.
