13-year-old Marcus is making waves in the literary world with his latest fantasy novel, “The Astromegas”a richly imagined adventure that delves into themes of power, corruption and redemption.

Professionally edited by renowned author and editor John A. Bonello, the story introduces readers to heroes on a daring quest to save their world from a dark spirit and its corrupting influence.

Bonello praised the novel for its depth and moral grounding, noting, “The story has various thematic elements that can inspire young readers to become better persons. These include positive role models, messages of inclusion, empathy, and compassion, as well as positive examples of behaviour- all naturally embedded within an engaging storyline.”

Written for secondary school students aged 10 to 14, “The Astromegas” delivers a fast-paced and immersive narrative designed to capture young imaginations. The book is part of an ambitious series, with Marcus already developing its sequels.

“The stories I create are more than just adventures,” Marcus explains. “They’re about inspiring readers- to be kind, empathetic, and courageous.”

“The Astromegas follows Marcus’s debut publication, “The Brotherhood Candle”, for which he already earns royalties. Impressively, he completed “The Astromegas” in the summer of 2024, at just 12 years old.

With an early start, remarkable creativity and a clear message of hope and humanity woven through his work, Marcus is well on his way to becoming one of the next generation’s standout young voices in fantasy fiction.

The paperback version of the book will be available for purchase at the Kotba Calleja Stand at the Malta Book Festival which will be taking place between 5th and 9th November at MFCC Ta’ Qali.
