17-Year-Old Injured In Birkirkara Hit-And-Run

A 17-year-old resident of Ħamrun sustained grievous injuries in a Birkirkara hit-and-run.

Yesterday evening, at around 6, the police were called for assistance at Triq Fleur-de-Lys.

Officials immediately went to the scene and discovered that a youth had been hit by a Toyota Tercel car with the driver fleeing the scene. In the incident, some parked vehicles also suffered damages.

The victim received help from a medical team before he was taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance.

Intense police investigations ensued to locate the driver and within an hour, they arrested the alleged driver: an 18-year-old male and Naxxar resident.

Duty Magistrate Charmaine Galea opened an inquiry amid police investigations that are still ongoing.
