The man who found himself in difficulty earlier today in Għajn Tuffieħa is certified to have sustained serious injuries.

According to the police, the man is an 18-year-old French national who was taken immediately to Mater Dei Hospital to receive medical aid.

The police went on site as soon as they were informed of the incident and they called for the Armed Forces of Malta to go on site. A medical team from Mater Dei Hosital as well as the Civil Protection Department were also on site.

Magistrate Monica Borg Galea LL.D has been informed of the case and has opened an inquiry. Police investigations are ongoing.
