182 Calls Made To People Affected By Paceville Collapse, BCA Says

182 calls have been made to people affected by the Paceville building collapse last Wednesday which saw mass evacuations and even demolitions of nearby buildings.
In addition to this, 241 messages were sent and 24 meetings were made with those affected by this almost-tragic collapse. An authority official was also constantly on site to assist those affected.The CEO of the Building and Construction Authority Perit Roderick Bonnici together with the President of the Kamra tal-Periti (KTP), Perit Andre Pizzuto visited the side where a detailed explanation was given of all the works carried out in the past week in collaboration with the Occupational Health and Safety Authority (OHSA), the Department of Civil Protection (CPD ) and the Police.
In a statement released by the BCA, Perit Pizzuto praised this collaborative work and expressed his satisfaction for the full cooperation of the BCA with all the respective entities.In fact, Perit Pizzuto said that although the KTP opened an independent investigation from that of the BCA, the two investigations are working hand in hand with the ultimate aim being to establish the cause of this incident.
“The aim of this visit, together with ongoing investigations, is to take the necessary measures on other construction sites and thus reduce the risks of similar situations”, said Perit Pizzuto.
On his part, the CEO of the BCA, Perit Roderick Bonnici, explained the process of all the work prior to the start, and all the details of the work carried out so far. In fact, he said that the Authority was proactive and even evacuated all the persons concerned before the accident.
He added that after the accident, more evacuations were carried out in buildings in which danger could be created in the process of demolishing and cleaning a site.
