19 People Arrested During Traffic Inspection For Living And Working Irregularly In Malta
19 people were arrested yesterday during a traffic inspection. They were found to be working and living irregularly in Malta.
Several vehicles were stopped in Marsaskala with driving licenses and other documents being checked. 19 people from Albania, Syria, and Nigeria were subsequently detained.
The inspection involved officials from the Police Corps, the Detention Services Agency, Transport Malta, Identità, and JobsPlus.
All the individuals are being held at the detention centre pending further investigations and until arrangements are made for their return to their country of origin or to other European member states where they are permitted to reside.
