21-Year-Old Arrested For Four Robberies In One Day In Sliema And Valletta
A 21-year-old man was arrested for four thefts in one day in Sliema and Valletta.
The man had entered a shop on Sir Adrian Dingli Street, Sliema, yesterday. He was armed with a knife and demanded money from the cashier, a 37-year-old man residing in St. Paul’s Bay. The thief fled the shop with an amount of cash and some other items he stole from the shop.
The police were informed of the crime at 9pm and immediately began investigations to catch the perpetrator. It was eventually discovered that the man who committed the armed robbery was the same one who, earlier that day at around 2am, entered a hotel on Ifran Street, Valletta, and allegedly stole cash.
Later, at around 4am, he committed another robbery from a hostel located on Sir George Borg Street, Sliema, where he stole some cash from a box behind the reception desk. A short while after this, he stole a wallet and a mobile phone from a vehicle on Tower Road, Sliema.
After a number of searches in places frequented by the man, the police managed to find him this morning in Valletta where he was then arrested.
While the police investigations are still ongoing, he is expected to be brought to court in the coming days.
