A 22-year-old Latvian man was arrested yesterday after an investigation by the police related to drug importation.

The man was stopped as he was entering a residence in Marsaskala. A search led to six kilograms suspected to be cannabis.

Magistrate Dr Natasha Galea Sciberras was notified of the situation and has started a formal inquiry. 

The 22-year-old is being held in custody and expected to appear in court today.

Investigations are currently ongoing.
