A 24-year-old woman is fighting for her life following a serious traffic accident last night along Triq Hompesh in Fgura.

The incident occurred at around 8pm, when two women, aged 34 and 24, both from Nepal, were struck by a Toyota Hilux driven by a 20-year-old woman from Birżebbuġa.

Emergency medical teams rushed to the scene, and both women were taken to Mater Dei Hospital. The younger woman sustained life-threatening injuries, while the 34-year-old was certified as having suffered grievous injuries.

Magistrate Ian Farrugia has been informed of the case and launched an inquiry, while police investigations are ongoing.
