A 27-year-old motorbike driver has tragically passed away earlier this morning after being involved in a traffic accident in Pembroke.

The incident took place at around 1am in St Andrew Street in Pembroke when the motorbike driver

According to preliminary investigations, the collision took place between a BMW 1 Series driven by a 22-year-old man from San Pawl il-Baħar and a Honda motorbike driven by the 27-year-old man from Paola.

The motorbike driver was immediately given help from a medical team and was taken to Mater Dei Hospital. Unfortunately, he was certified dead shortly after.

The condition of the 22-year-old man is unknown.

Magistrate Dr Ian Farrugia LL.D has been informed about the case and has opened an inquiry. Police investigations about the incident are still ongoing.
