28-Year-Old Man Arrested After Being Found In Possession Of Drugs
A 28-year-old Senegal-national man was arrested by the police yesterday evening in St Julian’s.
While on rounds in the area at around 7pm, two police officers noticed the man acting suspiciously in Triq San Ġorġ. The police stopped him and a search was conducted on the spot and police found eight sachets containing a white substance, allegedly cocaine. Apart from the sachets, a pill, suspected to be ecstasy was also found.
After finding the above in the man’s pocket, the police proceeded to search the bag he was carrying and found cash and more drugs suspected to be for trafficking. Apart from these, there were also 50 packets of drugs, suspected to be cannabis as well as 105 pills that are suspected to be ecstasy.
Magistrate Monica Galea LLD has been informed of the case and has opened an inquiry. Police investigations are underway.
