39-Year-Old Man Arrested After Stealing Parked Car From Iklin

A 39-year-old man, resident of St Paul’s Bay, was arrested after he stole a parked vehicle from Iklin over the weekend.
On Saturday, at around 3pm, police were informed that a Renault Mégane car had just been stolen from Triq Geramino Arbos, Iklin.
Police immediately went on-site and gathered a description of the perpetrator, with a search commencing shortly afterwards.
It didn’t take long before the stolen car was located in Triq it-Tiġrija, Marsa. After a search of the area, the man who committed the crime was located and arrested.
In the car, paraphernalia related to cocaine and a screwdriver were also found. They also found a motorcycle key on his person, and it was quickly established that the motorcycle, which was also located in the same area, was stolen just a few days before from Birkirkara.
The man is being kept at the police depot in Floriana, and will appear in court later on today.
