A 40-year-old man died after falling from his fifth-storey apartment in Victoria Gozo yesterday evening.

The man fell in an internal courtyard after he tried getting out of his apartment through his window, after being locked inside. The incident happened at around 8.30pm in a block of apartments in Giorgio Borg Olivier street in Rabat, Gozo.

The Civil Protection Department and a medical team were called to the apartment block, however the man was certified dead on site.

Magistrate Simone Grech has been notified of the case. Grech has already appointed several experts to assist in the inquiry. Police. investigations are still ongoing.
