When life threw him one of its toughest challenges, Myron Saacks responded in the most unexpected way: he decided to write a book — and it’s all for a good cause.

Titled Life In The Doghouse, this heartwarming children’s story is inspired by Myron’s life with dogs on the island of Malta, and it was written as part of his recovery after suffering a stroke in 2024.

But this isn’t just about healing. All proceeds from the book are being donated to support animal shelters and pet sanctuaries across Malta, helping provide food, blankets, and care to dogs who need it most.

“The plan was always to give back,” Myron says. “They need it more than we do.”

The book is already gaining attention, and on 1st April, Myron appeared on Maltese TV alongside Animal Welfare Commissioner Alison Bezzina, who’s backing the project and helping promote the cause.

Whether you’re a dog lover, a supporter of local shelters, or just want to get your paws on a cute and meaningful read, this is a project worth supporting. You can purchase ‘Life In The Doghouse’ here.

Let’s help it take him (and Malta’s four-legged friends) somewhere great.
