Aidan Will Sing At Malta Eurovision Final After All… On One Condition
Disqualified singer Aidan Cassar is set to return the Eurovision on Saturday for a performance as a guest… on condition that he doesn’t sing his original competition song, Regina.
Times of Malta reported that he was asked to perform on the final night as long as he refrains from singing the song he was going to compete with.
The local singer-songwriter was disqualified from the Malta Eurovision Song Contest in late January by PBS over unauthorized social media posts that he was reportedly warned about on several occasions.
He then announced he would file a lawsuit, insisting that he hadn’t breached any regulations. However, he later dropped the case “out of respect for other participants”.
His song Regina, which is in Maltese, English and Spanish, was considered a favourite to represent Malta in this year’s competition in the UK.
