Early this morning at around 1am, the police were informed that assistance was needed at an establishment on George Borg Olivier Street, St Julian’s.

Police promptly attended the scene and, following a preliminary investigation, it was established that a 40-year-old American man had fallen from a considerable height within the premises, for reasons yet to be determined.

A medical team from Mater Dei Hospital was called to the scene, and the victim was subsequently taken to hospital by ambulance to receive the necessary treatment. The man was later certified as suffering from serious injuries.

Magistrate Dr Monica Borg Galea LL.D was informed of the case and has appointed an inquiry, while police investigations are ongoing.
