Nationalist MP Alex Borg has continued to call out crime in Gozo, this time by sharing a photo of what he claims to be a fight in Marsalforn, before urging Minister for Home Affairs Byron Camilleri and Commissioner of Police Angelo Gafa to take action.

“Another sad scene,” Borg wrote on social media

For the past couple of weeks, Borg has been very determined to highlight what he claims is a change in the safety of Gozo as well as the subsequent happiness of its citizens.

He even challenged Camilleri to join him in asking if the people of Gozo are happy after the minister downplayed Borg’s concerns.

“Another day, another fight in Marsalforn,” the Gozo Spokesperson posted yesterday evening under a photo of such a scene which shows commotion assisted by an ambulance.

“Come on, let’s not remain like that.”

Byron Camilleri, this is not a perception but a reality that is happening every day.”

In a separate post just an hour later, he simply asked Gafa and Camilleri: “Where are you?”

Borg received over a hundred comments and counting, most of which have agreed with his concerns and are echoing the urge for more police resources on the sister island.

In an interview with Lovin Malta, Borg maintained that the risen crime rate can still be fixed. He explained that a rise in robberies, drugs, and street fights has prompted citizens to invest in cameras and alarm systems out of fear.

Do you think that police resources in Gozo need to increase?
