Around 10 people have been killed in a school shooting in Sweden, authorities have said.

The fatal shooting happened earlier today at the Risbergska school for adults in Örebro, a city west of Sweden’s capital, Stockholm.

Media and eyewitnesses reported that the shooter allegedly took their own life after the attack. He is believed to be among the 10 dead.

Giving more detail about the perpetrator, police say he was not known to them before the shooting, has no connection to a gang and officers do not believe there was a terror motive to the attack.
