The driver who was allegedly involved in yesterday’s fatal hit and run has been identified as a 21-year-old Birżebbuġa resident.

“The car involved in the accident was found in less than 24 hours, as well as the identification of the driver who was allegedly involved in the accident,” police said in a statement today. 

The accident, unfortunately, left 51-year-old Żejtun resident Antoine Degabriele dead.

The 21-year-old was arrested earlier today while his Mazda Demio was found in a garage in Żabbar.

He is being held in custody, while the investigations of the Police and the inquiry are still ongoing.
