Calls For Justice Renewed Four Months After Teddy Kosev’s Death

Four months after the tragic death of Tenyo Kosev in July, his friends have turned to social media to demand updates and justice in the case.

Kosev, fondly known as “Teddy”, lost his life when his Honda motorcycle collided with a BMW 1 Series motorbike at around 1am on Triq Sant’ Andrija in Pembroke. Emergency responders arrived quickly, but he succumbed to the injuries sustained in the crash.

“Four months ago, we lost our dear friend Tenyo in a terrible accident caused by a reckless driver who decided it was ok to make an illegal U-turn in Triq Sant’Adrija, Pembroke,” wrote Lianne Cutajar on the Facebook group “Are You Being Served.”

According to Cutajar, the driver involved has not been detained by authorities or brought to court. She also criticised the life he continues to lead, including living freely and travelling abroad.

“While he enjoys his freedom, our friend lies beneath the ground, and all we can do is write posts like this in the hopes that something is done, because that is how broken the system in Malta feels,” she added.

Cutajar questioned how discipline can be maintained in Malta in cases like this if consequences are not enforced. She appealed to anyone who sees her post to share it in order to raise awareness about such difficult situations.
