Clifton Grima Appointed Malta’s New Minister For Education And Sports
Prime Minister Robert Abela has named Clifton Grima Malta’s new Minister for Education, taking Justyne Caruana’s place.
Grima will also be remaining as Minister for Sports.
Grima was previously serving as Parliamentary Secretary for Sport, Recreation and Voluntary Organisations.
Between 2017 and 2020 he was serving as Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry for Education.
This comes after Caruana’s resignation which occurred last week, following the conclusion of an ethics probe by Standards Commissioner George Hyzler which resulted in a breach of ethics.
She was found to have breached ethics by handing a €15,000 contract by direct order to footballer Daniel Bogdanovic, with who she is understood to have had a romantic relationship.
