Rabat Construction Incident Claims Life Of 26-Year-Old Mohammed Kasem Hashem Alkhateeb

The 26-year-old Syrian man involved in the latest construction incident has unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.

The man, who has been identified as Mohammed Kasem Hashem Alkhateeb, died while in Mater Dei Hospital, three days after the incident, police have confirmed.

“He was only 26 years old. Tonight is for you too,” activist Omar Rababah wrote on Facebook. 

Police were informed of the incident at around 5.30pm on Thursday, which occurred along a construction site situated in Triq Alessandro Curmy, Rabat. The man, a resident of Bormla, was transported to Mater Dei Hospital after a one-storey fall.

Later on, it was confirmed that he’s suffering from life-threatening injuries. He was unfortunately pronounced dead last night. 

A magisterial inquiry, police investigations, and investigations by The Occupational Health and Safety Authority are ongoing.
