CPD Firefighters Return After Successful Mission In Portugal
A team of Maltese firefighters is on its way back to Malta after completing a successful deployment in Portugal, where they assisted local authorities during the wildfire season.
The crew is expected to arrive back on the island at around 9pm tonight.
“This deployment, part of the EU Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Mechanism’s Pre-Positioning Programme, helped strengthen our bonds with neighbouring countries while providing vital support during the wildfire season,” wrote the Civil Protection Department on social media.
Authorities praised the firefighters for their professionalism and dedication, highlighting their role in showcasing Malta’s commitment to European solidarity and civil protection efforts.
