Divers Unite: Fundraising Diving Event Happening This Good Friday For Puttinu Cares
A collective of local scuba diving clubs is coming together to organise a fundraising diving event in aid of Puttinu Cares.
This Good Friday, local scuba diving clubs Amphibians, ATLAM, Calypso Sub-Aqua Club, and the Professional Diving Schools Association – in collaboration with the Cirkewwa Marine Park and the Malta Tourism Authority – will be organising a fundraising event in aid of the Puttinu Cares Foundation.
Scuba and free divers of all levels are being encouraged to participate in this event, which will kick off at 8am and last until 4pm, at the Ċirkewwa Marine Park.
The area is known as one of the most popular diving sites in the Maltese islands, offering multiple options for diving, from basic beginner diving to advanced and technical diving.
The site itself is home to beautiful underwater topography and a wealth of marine life, as well as two artificial reefs that provide something of interest for every type of diver.
“Divers can just turn up during these times and do their recreational dive with their buddies whilst at the same time giving their donations to Puttinu,” the organisers said in a statement.
Divers and their friends will be able to show their support for Puttinu’s projects by making donations to Puttinu Cares representatives who will be on site.
Various other diving-related organisations are also being encouraged to participate in the event on the land side of the dive site. These will provide the attendees with educational and social opportunities to meet up with old and new buddies in the new spring and summer diving season.
