Driver And Passenger Fined After Passenger Caught Riding On Car Roof
Police have fined the driver and a young person who were caught on camera on the roof of a rental car yesterday after the video went viral on social media.
When asked by TVM News what steps the police authorities had taken in relation to this tape, the police verified that they had quickly been able to identify the driver and the individual in the video, both of whom were Belgian nationals.
The police further stated that fines were imposed after speaking with the persons involved in-depth till late at night at Police Headquarters.
Additionally, the driver was breathalysed but did not test positive for alcohol, according to the statement. The car they used did not remain available to them after being taken back by the car hire firm. Many people responded to the video, with some claiming that this mistake could have had far more dire repercussions.
