€1 Million Allocated Towards Victims Of Domestic Violence In Malta

More than €1 million has been allocated towards victims of domestic violence in Malta, to allow two public housing residences to continue operating.

The two residences, Dar Merħba Bik and Dar Santa Bakhita offer refuge for victims of domestic violence and their families in Malta.

“The Government will remain dedicated to helping domestic violence victims,” Falzon pledged in a Facebook post.

The €1,074,195 investment will be divided between the two residences and used over the course of three years.

The deal was sealed between the Minister for the Family, Children’s Rights and Social Solidarity and Dar Merħba Bik yesterday afternoon.

The residences welcome women together with their children, that fell victims to domestic violence and were placed in dangerous situations where they required assistance and protection.
