FOMO No Mo’: Here Are Some Cool Events You Can Hit Up This Weekend In Malta

Whether you’re just too lazy to open events on Facebook app or simply need some curated options — Lovin Malta has got your weekend plans covered.

Here’s a handy list for you to keep busy until the Monday blues return.

1. Delicious jazz with Warren Galea Trio

Do you want to listen to some tantalizing sounds by some of Malta’s top jazz musicians? And drink beer at a hipster bar? Well then get down to Vilhena this Saturday 18th and thank me later. Warren Galea, Oliver Degabriele and Joseph Camilleri (Bibi jr.) will take you on a musical journey.

2. Prime partying with Queer Like Velvet

If you’re more in for a very cool, queer party then head to Cafe Society for Queer Like Velvet. For Carnival, they’re doing a “Funhouse” edition, so get our clown shoes on, dancing your heart out and get sipping on some of the best cocktails in Valletta.

3.  Art Exhibitions Galore

There are so many exhibitions running on this puny island – and we’re so here for it. Check out these five exhibitions happening to get your art fix.

4. Arthouse cinema in the city

If you’re a cinephile, then head to the only arthouse cinema on Malta – in Spazju Kreattiv, for an alternative cinema night. This weekend they’re showing some excellent films including TAR, The Whale, Nostalgia and Holy Spider. Get booking.

5. Get your hands dirty

Unless you’re terribly hungover, finish your weekend by learning some new skills: Friends of the Earth Malta are hosting another session of hands-on community gardening in Floriana. This time they’re talking about climate-resilient plants.

6. Party in Gozo for Carnival

It’s Carnival weekend, so half the population will be in Gozo. If you’re down to take the three-hour queues to Gozo, then there are a bunch of events up there, like Junior B, G7 and Strictly to mention a few.

7. Do nothing, I guess

I’m a writer, not your mother.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
