Global IT Outage Causes Delays At Malta’s Airport
A major problem with Windows PCs’ computer systems is currently disrupting transport, hospitals, media organisations, and banks worldwide, with Malta’s airport announcing delays to today’s schedule.
“We regret to inform you that multiple airlines are currently experiencing network disruptions, affecting numerous airports worldwide, including Malta International Airport,” a statement by the airport read.

“As a result, delays are expected. Please be assured that we are working diligently to manage the situation with minimal disruption,” the statement added.
Flights in several countries have also been grounded due to communications issues less than an hour after Microsoft resolved the error.
Train operators in the UK have also seen cancellations due to this outage.
Users reported seeing a blue screen when attempting to start their computers, a glitch that is still causing havoc in many companies despite Microsoft having reportedly addressed the issue.
The organising committee for the Paris Olympics reported its IT operations have been impacted with just a week to go before the Games. However, the committee has contingency plans to salvage the situation.
