Gżira PL Mayor: Honest People Have No Place In The Labour Party

Gżira Labour Mayor Conrad Borg Manche has warned that honest people no longer have a place within the Labour Party.
His comments were made publically under a post by Deputy PL Leader Daniel Micallef, which featured a quote and a photo of Prime Minister Robert Abela.
“Let’s all keep working together. So we can make what you voted for happen. We’ll make it happen with your trust, but above all, we’ll make it happen with the trust we have for our country,” Abela’s quote reads.
While many were seen criticizing the party in the comments, one commentator tagged the Gżira mayor, commending him for his work as a “true socialist”.
“The party needs people like him,” he wrote.
“While I thank you for your comment and I appreciate it immensely, there’s a massive gap between what was said today and the true facts,” Borg Manche replied.
“An honest person has no place in the party anymore.”
“I don’t know what they expect of me – I cannot just let things go in the direction they’re heading, so who’s already a millionaire will continue becoming an even bigger one. Believe me, this is how things are.”
“They know I’m not a Yes Man, and I will stand up to things that I don’t believe in. That’s why they don’t want me around anymore.”

Contacted by Lovin Malta, Borg Manche said that he does not need to add anything else to his statement.
Borg Manche has been an instrumental voice in the fight against overdevelopment in Gżira, such as the fuel station which was set to replace the largest public garden of the locality and the development of Manoel Island.
