Ħaż-Żebbuġ Local Council Unveils ‘First-Ever’ Bicycle Repair Kit And Racks In Town Square
The Ħaż-Żebbuġ local council has just unveiled a new bicycle repair kit in the village square, equipped with various tools and an air pump.
The repair kit, which is situated in Triq Sciortino, also includes bike racks, free for cyclists to use whenever the need arises.
“We kindly ask that you make proper use of it and take good care of the equipment,” the local council page said on social media.
“This is the first bicycle repair kit to ever be installed in a local town. Like this, we have created the first allocated space for alternative transportation in the centre of Ħaż-Żebbuġ,” local councillor Steve Zammit Lupi said.
“We did this to support those who make use of sustainable transportation, as well as to incentivise others to get interested too,” he said.
The initiative was welcomed well on social media, with Zammit Lupi’s post alone garnering over a thousand reactions.
