Music genius Matthew “Muxu” Mercieca took to social media to reflect on the loss of his cousin, Jan Pace who was found dead last Sunday afternoon.

“You are the first person I ever felt safe enough to fully be myself with, and I don’t know life without you. When life was hard, you were always there to make sure we laughed and felt better, and when things went well, you were always there to celebrate us,” wrote Muxu.

He went on to praise all the love Pace had to give ever since their first boyband “The Funky Boys” days, to living together in London and to many childhood memories.

Muxu repeated throughout how unforgettable and irreplaceable Pace is to him, and how he will forever be alive in his heart. He went on to send his love to his uncle Chris and aunty Christine.

“You were always everyone’s biggest cheerleader, making sure everyone felt loved. We did so much growing together and I’ve never had to know life without you, and I know this is going to take a lot of healing. The funniest person I know, one of my favourite people,” wrote Muxu.

Muxu finished his post by saying that their story will continue “later on at the most beautiful party in the sky. Love you and see you later.”

Jan’s funeral is set to take place tomorrow at the Sanctuary of Divine Mercy, Naxxar at 9.30am.
