Illegally Parked Trailers In Corradino Finally Removed By TM
Abandoned and illegally parked trailers have finally been removed from the Corradino industrial estate by Transport Malta officials.
“But our work does not stop here,” Transport Minister Chris Bonett wrote on social media.
“Transport Malta is now focusing on enforcement in other areas including Qormi, Ta’ Qali and Ħal Far where there are currently a number of abandoned trailers.”
Bonett concluded by assuring that the ministry will ensure that “our roads are safer, our public spaces are maintained well and we will deliver on our promises”.
TM had issued a notice on 13th August informing owners that they had until the 22nd to remove their vehicles. The vehicles that weren’t removed were ultimately disposed of at an end-of-life treatment facility with no possibility of recourse.
Earlier this year, Lovin Malta discovered that LESA slapped 68 contraventions on temporary caravans between July and September of 2023 after the government introduced new regulations requiring the vehicles to get permits to set up in summer.
In July of this year, the newsroom reached out to the authority once again to acquire similar information related to this summer. Despite multiple reminders, the newsroom remains without a response.
Do you think the regulations on trailers and camper vans are being adequately enforced?
