In Photos: Rainbow Dress With Flags Of Countries That Still Ban Homosexuality Unleashed In Valletta

The iconic Amsterdam Rainbow Dress , a huge piece of fabric which is made up of all the national flags from countries where being LGBTIQ+ is illegal, has been unleashed in the streets of Malta’s capital for an incredible photoshoot.
The dress is a striking symbol of pride and inclusivity. The gown is crafted from the flags of 68 different countries where homosexuality is still criminalised, serving as a powerful reminder of the global struggle for LGBTIQ+ rights.
It was designed by artists Arnout van Krimpen, Mattijs van Bergen, Jochem Kaan and Oeri van Woezik and made its debut during the 2016 Amsterdam Gay Pride.

When a country adopts LGBTIQ+ inclusive legislation, the respective flat is replaced with a rainbow flat. Since its inception, 10 flags have already been replaced.
The beautiful dress has been all around the world from Hungary to Canada and now also in Malta with some incredible shots modelled by Michela Buhagiar in Valletta just in time for EuroPride.
The dress is currently on display at Spazju Kreattiv and will remain there until Sunday. Make sure to keep up with all the locations that this masterpiece travels by following the foundation’s Instagram page.
