Infrastructure Malta Starts Repairs On Swieqi Tunnels Sinking Structure, Local Council Resident Says

Local Council candidate Jordan Galea Pace stated that Infrastructure Malta has initiated repair works on the “sinking structure”.

Last month, Galea Pace spoke with Lovin Malta and expressed concern over the cracks and dips in the bridge, explaining that the structure wasn’t built to withstand the weight of the heavy vehicles that use it.

“With four new construction sites being built simultaneously, the amount of trucks has increased in the area,” he said.

Since his public complaint, the authority has begun repair works, Galea Pace said on social media.

“As a candidate for the new local council, I pledge to advocate for the residents of Swieqi.”

In February 2024, Infrastructure Malta announced the development of the Swieqi – St Julian’s Junction, which is a significant project that will allow better traffic flow and more accessibility from/to Swieqi and St Julian’s.
