The Labour Party has clapped back at the PN’s recent statement on the explosive dead voters whistleblower allegations, saying this “is not the first time in recent years that the Nationalist Party has made similar allegations related to elections.”

“Everyone remembers when the Nationalist Party said that the voting documents were being tampered with,” a statement issued on Tuesday evening read. “This is not the first time the Nationalist Party made allegations about someone else, only to then be discredited along with the allegation itself.”

“In the last general election, the Nationalist Party suffered the biggest blow in history because the Maltese people understood the plan of the Labour Party. The people also understood that the Nationalist Party hasn’t changed and still doesn’t offer anything concrete for our country.”

“It’s a pity that since then the Nationalist Party hasn’t changed and still uses the same tactics and attitudes that have never led us anywhere. The Nationalist Party is like this: it either survives or it poisons the people’s choice.”

The Transport Malta whistleblower alleged that foreign residents in Malta were provided with the identities of deceased foreign-born Maltese citizens for the purpose of  enabling them to vote for the Labour party.

Furthermore, the whistleblower said that this scheme was facilitated by the existence of a substantial number of foreign-born citizens who hadn’t been officially registered as deceased. As a result, these identities could potentially be transferred to other foreign residents in Malta, who would then be compensated for voting in favour of the Labour party.
