Latest 5.2 Magnitude Earthquake Felt For 10 Seconds In Various Localities Around Malta

The latest 5.2 magnitude earthquake which occurred last night has been reportedly felt for longer than 10 seconds in various localities around Malta.

The earthquake occurred around 107 kilometres off the Western coast of Malta, making it the fourteenth tremor in just days. 

Various people around Malta reported feeling the earthquake for five to ten seconds, while some did not feel it at all.

It occurred at around 9.25pm, with two more earthquakes with magnitudes of 4.1 and 3.9 respectively happening shortly after.

Citizens residing in localities like Rabat, Siġġiewi, Marsaskala, Pembroke, Qormi, Ħamrun, Marsaxlokk, Victoria, Żejtun, and Valletta reported feeling the tremor.

Some even said that it made their furniture and light fixtures shake, or that it woke them up from their sleep.

For the last few days, a series of tremors have been occurring in the same spot, around 100 kilometres off the coast of Malta. This was one of the largest thus far.
