On the evening of Friday, 6th June, police on routine patrol in Paceville noticed two individuals selling balloons filled with nitrous oxide, commonly known as laughing gas. Upon further observation, officers saw people purchasing and consuming the gas, leading to the vendors being stopped and 18 bottles of nitrous oxide being seized.

Later that night, police also identified two individuals known to them who were breaching court-imposed bail conditions. Both were arrested.

At around midnight, a separate incident saw local police observing a man trafficking cannabis. He was immediately arrested, brought before the court, admitted to the charges, and was sentenced to 14 months in prison and fined €500.

At approximately 5:30am, a man reported being robbed in the area of Spinola Garden. Police quickly responded and conducted a patrol with the victim to identify the suspect. Shortly after, the aggressor was located with the victim’s stolen wallet and mobile phone in his possession.

He was arrested, charged, and sentenced to three years in prison after admitting to the offence.

On Saturday evening, while police were once again carrying out routine patrols in the same locality, they were called to assist with a traffic incident involving two vehicles that escalated into an argument between those involved. Two of the five people present were arrested after failing to cooperate with police.

One of them assaulted an officer and was taken to court under arrest. She admitted to the charges, received a three-year probation sentence, and a protection order was issued in favour of the police.
