Lesa Fined Over 4,500 Drivers In First Three Months Of 2025

In a Facebook post, LESA announced the statistics on fines issued in the Maltese islands in the first three months of 2025.

The average is just over 50 fines per day with the total number of 4,643 drivers fined.2,493 drivers were caught using their mobile phones while driving and were fined €200 with the possibility of having nine penalty points on their licence. The fine goes up to €300 for bus and taxi drivers, as well as anyone carrying passengers as part of their job.

1,168 drivers were fined for driving on a continuous white line.857 motorists were caught driving without a seatbelt and were fined €46.59. 60 drivers ignored a red light and paid a hefty fine of €200. 65 drivers fined for not keeping their children safe in their vehicle.
