Magisterial Inquiry To Be Opened Into Christian Borg’s Money Laundering Activities
A magisterial inquiry is set to be opened into Christian Borg’s company No Deposit Cars Malta and all his money laundering activities.
A court accepted lawyer and former MP Jason Azzopardi’s request to open an inquiry into Borg’s practices, after multiple allegations on money laundering and fraud. All directors of the company in question will also be investigated.
The inquiry is set to be led by Magistrate Elaine Rizzo. The application was signed by lawyers Jason Azzopardi and Kris Busietta.
“Due to professional ethics I cannot comment on a case I’m professionally involved in. Except to say this: Justice will prevail. I will allow nothing, whatever, and no one, wherever, to stop or hinder me in seeing Justice meted out according to law. My clients and I will never, ever, give in,” Azzopardi told Lovin Malta.
Following an application by multiple clients of the company, a decision was made against Christian Borg, Joe Camensuli, Luke Milton, Thorne Mangion, James Spiteri, and Tyson Grech.
Many shocking recounts have emerged since then by past clients, including beating, kidnapping, and forcing clients to pay payments that were not actually owed to the company.
Back in March, a court had ordered the suspension of businessman Christian Borg’s license which enabled him to operate a car rental service of over 1,000 vehicles.
The scrapping of his license came after Judge Lawrence Mintoff confirmed Transport Malta’s previous suspension, following Borg’s appeal to a decision by a Tribunal last year.
