In an extraordinary display of compassion and unity, Malta has rallied together to raise a remarkable €1,451,867 in support of Dar Bjorn.

ALS Malta’s annual telethon proved to be successful once again as this year’s campaign “Il-Mirakli Jsiru” took place yesterday.

Bjorn Formosa, founder of ALS Malta, continues to spearhead the campaign with the mission focused to assist people suffering from neurological conditions.

Bjorn was diagnosed with ALS, a neurodegenerative neuromuscular disease that results in the progressive loss of motor neurons that control voluntary muscles, in 2015 when he was 28 years old.

This year’s campaign was focused on aiding the Dar Bjorn Respite, a respite home for neurological patients in need of temporary care, requiring specialised equipment for their treatment.

At the end of the campaign, emotions ran high as the previous year’s sum of €1,200,259 was surpassed, and the night concluded with a grand total of €1,451,867

“Thank you, thank you, thank you!” Bjorn wrote on his social media as he was left speechless with with final amount.

The funds raised will undoubtedly make a significant impact, helping to improve the lives of countless individuals and further the noble mission of Dar Bjorn.

This heartening demonstration of solidarity highlights Malta’s commitment to creating a better and more caring society for all.

Thank you to everyone who donated!
