Malta Ranked 12th Least Safe Country In Europe According To Poll

Malta ranked 12th least safe country in Europe in a crime index poll that was recently published by Numbeo.
Numbeo is a crowd-sourced online database that provides information on the cost of living, real estate prices, and quality of life in cities and countries worldwide. It allows users to compare living costs, safety indexes and more between different locations and make informed decisions about where to live or work. Although this data is provided by the host website, the information is not scientific and is collected via polls.
Europe’s countries were ranked according to a number of factors including crime levels, personal safety and experiences or concerns related to theft or assault.
Malta’s crime index is marked at 43.09 and its safety index is assessed as 56.91. The highest ranking concerns for Malta are its crime increasing in the last five years, and problem corruption and bribery.

According to Numbeo’s crime index, factors such as migration pressures, economic inequality, and urbanisation have influenced how people feel in their cities at day and night.
The top three ranked least safe are France, Belgium and Belarus. The study also notes that most transcontinental countries, such as Türkiye, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Kazakhstan, have not been included. Armed conflicts are not taken into account.
