A Maltese man and his partner in crime were found guilty of threatening a delivery courier with a knife after he delivered penne instead of spaghetti.

Kersten Camilleri and Simon Camilleri were sentenced to seven years and five months of jail after being found guilty of threatening and stealing from various food couriers while holding them at knifepoint.

The isolated incidents occurred on 8th, 10th, and 14th April 2020 in Bormla, Haż-Żabbar, and San Ġwann, during which they threatened two different delivery couriers with their lives to give them their money.

On 10th April, the men threatened to kill the courier after one of them argued that the order delivered was not what he had ordered, and he had wanted penne instead of spaghetti.

In court, the deliveryman recounted how one of the men held a knife against his throat, and told him that if he screams, he’ll kill him.

Magistrate Stafrace Zammit condemned Kersten Camilleri to four years and five months in prison, while Simon Camilleri was sentenced to three years in prison.

Do you think the men were given a fair sentence?
