Maltese NGO’s Call On Public To Protest: Let The Conscience In

Maltese NGOs are calling for an urgent public demonstration on Sunday, 4th May, at 5:30pm in Castille Square, Valletta, to demand that the Government grant emergency entry to the humanitarian vessel Conscience.
The ship, part of the Gaza Freedom Flotilla Coalition, is carrying vital humanitarian aid intended for Palestinians in Gaza, who are enduring a worsening humanitarian disaster amid Israel’s ongoing military campaign.
Yesterday, the vessel was struck in a drone attack that disabled much of its functionality. Now stranded just outside Maltese territorial waters, the situation on board is critical: the ship has no electricity, water is seeping in, and it is unable to sail without repairs.
Despite these conditions, Maltese authorities have so far denied the ship entry.
Solidarity groups insist that, given the extent of the damage, Malta must allow the Conscience to dock for urgent repairs so it can safely resume its humanitarian mission.
“We urgently call on the Prime Minister and the entire Government to do what is just and necessary: let the Conscience in,” the organisations said in a joint statement.
The appeal has been endorsed by Moviment Graffitti, Ġustizzja għall-Palestina, The Lebanese Advocates, and Youth for Palestine.
